almaBTE 1.3 released

Version 1.3.1 of almaBTE is now available from the downloads page.

This version, which marks the last public release within the framework of the ALMA project (the project ends 31 May 2018), is recommended to all almaBTE users and provides the following improvements:

  • Upon popular request, we have added a new executable phononinfo. This enables users to extract raw phonon information (including frequency and lifetime) into a data file.

  • We have added a new executable steady_montecarlo1d_powersource. This offers Monte Carlo simulations of multilayer structures with a user-prescribed power dissipation at the top surface rather than an isothermal “hot reservoir”.

  • The two available Monte Carlo solvers now provide estimates of the stochastic uncertainty (standard deviation) on their key output variables.

  • We fixed a bug in the diffuse mismatch distribution that was affecting Monte Carlo simulations of all interfaces between materials having distinct number of atoms in their unit cells.

  • Compatibility upgrades including a new version of Eigen and minor changes to CMakeLists and code formatting.
